Educators(carers) are required to be fit and proper persons according to the National Standards. They are required to have :
- have attained (or be working towards), as a minimum, a Certificate III qualification in Early Childhood Education
- current first aid qualifications, including annual CPR,
- completed all relevant state and territory working with children checks
- demonstrated knowledge of early childhood practices and duty of care
- keep appropriate records including safety audits and programs for children
- maintain a safe environment
- undertake professional development each year
